HEADS ABOVE THE REST FOR FUN AND GOOD FOOD
Monroe Social offers convenient cuisine with a capital “D” for Delicious. Order online and opt for delivery. Order online and meet it coming off the grill. Eat there or take it back to the office or home. Make reservations and relax. Have a fast lunch. Hold a small meeting in a large booth. Meet friends, clients, business associates. Do business. Network. Socialize. Enjoy. Karaoke and Trivia Nights on alternate Fridays. Open Mic on Thursdays, and on Saturdays some of the best local bands like The Lionfish. It’s a place for all reasons with good food and a bar to boot. Great prices, too. Monroe ‘s gone “social”.
Owners Constantin Crama (above, left) and Douglas Barrientos are two heads above the rest when it comes to fun and good food. The two worked together for 15 years for a Fairfield county restaurant group before they opened their own Monroe Social last February.
“We wanted to create a place,” said Constantine, “where people can come and hang out and socialize with neighbors, friends and co-workers and not break the bank. You can come here, have a glass of wine and a quick bite to eat for under $10.”
Their signature burger is a secret recipe, which they grind fresh every day with fillet mignon. Monroe Social also offers lamb, turkey and veggie burgers as well. Also on the menu are chicken, fish, pork and steak dishes, salads and tasty appetizers. They wind up every week with a creative Sunday brunch menu. “We have something for everybody,’’ Constantin said, “including a children’s menu.”
“Monroe has a lot of good restaurants”, said Douglas. “But, we felt like there was room for one more, to serve bistro-style food. We play good music, too. Bring in local bands, and have a nice staff. And we have a lot of fun nights coming up – like Karaoke and Trivia.
